21-Year-Old Charged With Felony Hit-and-Run After Crash Kills Motorcyclist in Davidson County
April 10, 2026Davidson County, North Carolina — April 9, 2026 — According to WSOC TV, a 21-year-old man is facing felony hit-and-run charges following a crash that left one person dead and another seriously injured.
Joshua Sermeno recently appeared in court for an initial hearing. He has been released on bond and is expected to return to court in July.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on National Highway near Teague Road. Investigators say Sermeno was driving a pickup truck when he stopped in the roadway and attempted to make an illegal U-turn.
According to findings from the crash reconstruction team, a motorcycle traveling behind the truck was unable to avoid the truck and collided with it from the rear.
Troopers allege that Sermeno left the scene after the crash and returned to his residence in High Point.
The motorcycle operator, identified as 30-year-old Andralius Culbreth, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger on the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Family Remembers Victim as a Devoted Father and Outgoing Personality
Friends and family members say Culbreth, known to many as “Dre,” leaves behind eight children, including a 12-year-old daughter.
In a statement, Katherine Hopper, his daughter’s mother, described him as someone who embraced life fully and brought energy and warmth to those around him. She said he had a deep passion for motorcycles and enjoyed the freedom of the open road, but will be remembered most for his ability to connect with others and make people feel welcome.
According to Hopper, Culbreth shared a close, meaningful bond with his daughter, Serenity, whom he described as not only his child but also his closest companion.
She noted that his presence had a lasting impact on those around him and that his absence leaves a profound void for his family and friends.
