Breaking News: Pedestrian Killed in Collision Involving Security Company Vehicle on Albemarle Road in Charlotte
September 19, 2025Charlotte, North Carolina — September 18, 2025 — According to WBTV 3 and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, a fatal crash involving a security company vehicle shut down part of a major roadway along Albemarle Road, near the intersection with North Sharon Amity Road.
Investigators said the vehicle involved was a Toyota Prius marked with Weatherspoon Security logos. The car sustained heavy front-end damage, including a shattered windshield. Paramedics at the scene confirmed that the other person involved in the crash was a pedestrian, who was pronounced dead shortly after the incident.
Officers closed a section of Albemarle Road for several hours while crime scene investigators examined the area and collected evidence. Police placed tape around the Weatherspoon Security vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation.
Weatherspoon Security, a Charlotte-based company that describes itself as a global security provider, lists its services online as including site protection, armored and unarmored transportation, training, and private investigation.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name or said whether any charges will be filed. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
