Breaking News: Motorcyclist Killed in Weekend Collision with Pickup Truck in Hickory

Hickory, North Carolina — July 21, 2025 — According to WBTV 3,  a 38-year-old man lost his life following a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The fatal crash occurred along North Center Street.

According to the Hickory Police Department, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was heading southbound when a Nissan truck attempted to make a left-hand turn onto the same roadway. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jordan Phillip Daughaday, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police investigators noted that the speed of the motorcycle may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

No charges had been filed in connection with the incident. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that could assist in the investigation is urged to contact the Hickory Police Department at 828-328-5551.
