Robbins, North Carolina — September 17, 2026 — According to the Sandhills Sentinel, a motorcyclist was flown to a hospital following a crash near the intersection of North Carolina Highway 24/27 and Talc Mine Road.

Authorities at the scene said that a box truck traveling on Highway 24/27 turned onto Talc Mine Road and reportedly entered the path of a westbound motorcycle.

The rider attempted to avoid the truck by putting the motorcycle down on the roadway. The box truck continued from the scene, and law enforcement was working to locate it.

Despite being injured, the motorcyclist remained conscious and was able to provide authorities with information about how the crash occurred. Emergency responders transported the rider to a landing area established in a nearby field, where a Carolina Air Care helicopter was waiting.

Emergency medical personnel treated the rider while crews cleared the damaged motorcycle from the road, and a portion of Highway 24/27 was temporarily closed.
