Greensboro Collision

Investigators reported that a Chevrolet Camaro traveling northbound on Freeman Mill Road struck a Subaru Forester that was stopped at a traffic light. The impact forced the Subaru into two additional vehicles waiting ahead at the intersection, resulting in a four-vehicle collision.

The driver of the Subaru, 30-year-old Brittany Dawn Jordan, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger traveling with Jordan sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities identified the Camaro driver as 25-year-old Bryson Lomont Spruill. Following the investigation, police charged Spruill with misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to reduce speed.

Crashes involving stopped vehicles can generate significant force, particularly when one vehicle strikes another from behind, triggering a chain reaction among multiple motorists. In these situations, investigators often examine factors such as vehicle speed, following distance, roadway conditions, driver attention, and compliance with traffic laws when determining whether criminal charges are appropriate.

The Greensboro Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
