Breaking News: Two Pedestrians Injured in Separate Early Morning Collisions Involving CATS Bus and Vehicle in Uptown Charlotte
July 23, 2025Charlotte, North Carolina — July 22, 2025 — According to the Charlotte Observer, emergency crews responded to two separate pedestrian collisions uptown, one of which involved a Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) bus. According to paramedics, the more serious of the two incidents involved a person pinned in the crash, prompting an urgent medical response.
The first incident occurred near the intersection of Brevard Street and 3rd Street, where a CATS bus reportedly struck a pedestrian. MEDIC described the injuries as serious and confirmed the individual was transported to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment.
Shortly afterward, a second pedestrian was struck near Charlottetowne Avenue and 7th Street. That individual was also taken to the same hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not been publicly confirmed.
Officials with CATS acknowledged the first crash, while the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has not yet released further details regarding either incident.
