Passenger Killed in SUV Accident in Mooresville, North Carolina

March 29, 2022

At Dewey, Ramsay, & Hunt, P.A., our Charlotte car accident attorneys represent clients throughout North Carolina who have been injured or lost their loved ones as passengers in vehicle collisions.

In most North Carolina traffic collisions, passengers are sitting by helplessly, vulnerable to any negligent actions that occur during their travels.

Earlier this month, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol investigated a deadly crash that happened on Interstate 77 South near Exit 35, which goes into Brawley School Road in Iredell County.

According to troopers, a 2001 Ford Explorer was heading south on the interstate when it hit a concrete median, overturned, and went down an embankment.

A passenger, 49-year-old Niki Rochelle Jordan, died from her injuries due to the crash.

The driver and two other passengers, including an eight-year-old child, were transported to the hospital for their injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, according to authorities.

When the vehicle’s occupants are hurt or killed in a crash, our Charlotte laws allow the negligent party to be held liable for the passenger’s injuries or wrongful death.

Our personal injury attorneys in Charlotte can help you determine who was at fault for the crash, and how you can pursue their insurance coverage for your full financial recovery.

Who is Liable for a Passenger’s Injuries or Wrongful Death in Vehicle Collisions in North Carolina?

At Dewey, Ramsay & Hunt, our car accident attorneys in Charlotte review each case we take based on the crash facts, evidence, injuries, or fatalities that were sustained by our clients or their family members.

That means we must investigate how and why your crash occurred to ensure we are pursuing the proper person or combination of parties for your complete financial recovery needs.

That may include:

  • The driver of the car the passenger is traveling in
  • The driver of a third-party vehicle that collided with the car the passenger was in
  • Both drivers when are comparatively negligent

Once we determine who is liable for the crash, we can get to work on your case.
