Breaking News: Two People Killed in Head-On Collision on Thomasville Road in Winston-Salem

Winston-Salem, North Carolina — October 10, 2025 — According to My Fox 8 and the Winston-Salem Police Department, authorities are investigating a fatal multi-vehicle crash that claimed two lives on Thomasville Road.

Officers were called to the scene, where they determined that a 2016 Ford Escape, driven by 68-year-old Darlene Schuwan Hauser, had been traveling south when it crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic.

Two People Killed in Head-On Collision

Investigators said the Ford Escape first sideswiped a northbound 2016 Toyota 4Runner, then collided head-on with a 2008 Ford Focus traveling behind it.

Hauser died at the scene from her injuries. Her passenger, 55-year-old Maurice Singh, was transported to a nearby hospital but later died.

No one in the Toyota 4Runner or Ford Focus was reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
